When the Rothschild family acquired Château Duhart-Milon in 1962, the property comprised a modest 17 hectares — a fraction of its current extent. Over the following decades, the château was methodically rebuilt, parcel by parcel, until it reached its present 76 hectares in the commune of Pauillac, Gironde. This long-term commitment reflects the same philosophy that governs Lafite itself: no shortcuts, no compromise on terroir selection.
