The distinguished neighbour to Lafite and Mouton

  • Classified as a Fourth Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux hierarchy, Duhart-Milon represents a pinnacle of Pauillac winemaking. The château's position on the plateau, adjacent to the greatest vineyards of the left bank, endows its wines with remarkable structure and refinement.
  • This is a wine of genuine ageing potential. The 2021 will unfold its aromatic complexity over two decades or more, revealing layer upon layer of cassis, dark fruit, and mineral nuance as it matures in bottle.
  • The vineyard is farmed with reasoned viticulture, respecting the natural rhythms of the terroir whilst maintaining the rigorous standards expected of a classified growth. This approach yields wines of purity and authenticity.

Product features : Chateau Duhart-Milon – 4eme Cru Classé 2021 — Pauillac

Breeding
18 months in French oak barrels from Domaines cooperage (approximately 50% new wood)
On the eye
Deep garnet robe, brilliant and limpid, suggesting both power and elegance.
On the nose
A refined and complex bouquet. Blackcurrant liqueur and dark berry fruit are complemented by a distinctive graphite minerality—the signature of Pauillac's gravel plateau. The aromatics develop with measured intensity.
In the mouth
Savorous and persistent, with admirable length. The Cabernet Sauvignon's structure is evident, yet the palate displays the silken texture characteristic of the Lafite group. Medium-weight power, impeccably balanced, with a dry, mineral finish.
M. Francois
A true expression of Pauillac's terroir and the Lafite family's winemaking philosophy. Duhart-Milon will reward patience at table with game, beef in rich sauces, or the classic French pairing of lamb with flageolets. Decant an hour before service to allow the wine to breathe and reveal its full character.

CHATEAU DUHART-MILON

Situated on the Carruades plateau in Pauillac, Gironde, Château Duhart-Milon is the sole 4th Grand Cru Classé 1855 of the appellation, across 76 hectares of fine gravels and aeolian sands. Acquired in 1962 by Domaines Barons de Rothschild with a mere 17 hectares, the château has been patiently rebuilt and is today managed by the same team as Lafite, with organic conversion underway since 2021. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot plantings, the consistency of its parcel-by-parcel approach, and the aromatic precision of its Pauillac reds. A classical reference for serious Bordeaux collectors.
