A fourth growth of understated elegance, neighbour to Mouton and Lafite

  • Classified as a fourth growth in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, Duhart-Milon represents the pinnacle of Pauillac's terroir, situated between the celebrated vineyards of Mouton Rothschild and Lafite Rothschild.
  • This is a wine of considerable ageing potential, one that will unfold its full aromatic complexity over the coming years, rewarding patience with layers of depth and nuance.
  • The vineyard is managed with reasoned viticulture practices, respecting both the land and the expression of its distinctive terroir, resulting in wines of authentic character.

Product features : Chateau Duhart-Milon – 4eme Cru Classé 2022 — Pauillac

Breeding
18 months in French oak barrels from Domaines cooperage (approximately 50% new wood)
On the eye
A deep garnet robe, clear and luminous
On the nose
An aristocratic and layered bouquet revealing blackcurrant liqueur, dark berry fruit and a subtle mineral note reminiscent of pencil lead, characteristic of fine Pauillac.
In the mouth
Savoury and persistent on the palate, displaying the power of Cabernet Sauvignon tempered by the silken texture typical of the Lafite group's house style. Medium-bodied with excellent structure.
M. Francois
This wine embodies the directness and integrity of Pauillac's terroir. It will serve admirably alongside charcuterie, red meats and sauced dishes—a leg of lamb with flageolets would be a particularly felicitous pairing.

CHATEAU DUHART-MILON

Situated on the Carruades plateau in Pauillac, Gironde, Château Duhart-Milon is the sole 4th Grand Cru Classé 1855 of the appellation, across 76 hectares of fine gravels and aeolian sands. Acquired in 1962 by Domaines Barons de Rothschild with a mere 17 hectares, the château has been patiently rebuilt and is today managed by the same team as Lafite, with organic conversion underway since 2021. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot plantings, the consistency of its parcel-by-parcel approach, and the aromatic precision of its Pauillac reds. A classical reference for serious Bordeaux collectors.
