Staff Picks: Red Wine — Our Team's Honest Favourites

At Halles de Quercamps, we are wine professionals who are also wine enthusiasts. Every member of our team regularly tastes, discusses, and opens bottles at home — and when someone finds a wine they genuinely love, we want to share that enthusiasm with our customers.

Our Staff Picks section is exactly that: a rotating selection of bottles that our team members are currently excited about. These are not necessarily the most expensive wines in our cellar, nor the most commercially obvious choices. They might be a surprising discovery from an unfamiliar appellation, a producer we've just started working with, or a classic wine in a particularly exceptional vintage.

What Makes a Staff Pick?

To appear in our Staff Picks, a wine must:

1.    Have been recently tasted by a team member in a non-commercial context

2.   Generate genuine enthusiasm — "I'd buy this with my own money"

3.   Offer something interesting to share with customers: a story, a discovery, a quality-to-price revelation

How Often Does the Selection Change?

Our Staff Picks evolve continuously. As team members discover new bottles, previously featured wines move back to the main catalogue. We update this section at least monthly, more frequently when something truly exciting arrives.

The Team Behind the Picks

Nicolas François, our co-owner, focuses on the structured reds — Bordeaux, Rhône, South West. His commercial background means he always has one eye on value as well as quality. Camille brings her Beaujolais knowledge and a passion for natural, terroir-driven wines. Our cellar team contributes picks from the more obscure corners of our extensive range.
