The essence of Pic Saint-Loup in every glass

  • An intense and elegant red wine that captures the distinctive character of Pic Saint-Loup's terroir. This 2022 vintage expresses the mineral and aromatic complexity for which the appellation is recognised.
  • A harmonious blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, each variety contributing its own aromatic signature. The result is a wine of considerable depth and layered flavour without heaviness.
  • Pairs beautifully with grilled meats, spiced stews and well-aged cheeses. A wine equally suited to accompanying a substantial meal or to contemplative tasting on its own merits.

Breeding
12 to 14 months in oak barrels, adding woody and vanilla notes
On the eye
Deep purple robe with violet reflections, suggesting the wine's concentration and youth.
On the nose
Intense aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant, layered with white pepper, wild herbs and a subtle mineral note characteristic of the schist-based terroir.
In the mouth
Round and powerful on the palate, with silky tannins and flavours of dark fruits, liquorice and garrigue. The finish is persistent and clean, with good acidity providing balance.
M. Francois
Dame Jeanne Rouge demonstrates Guilhem Viau's skill in crafting authentic terroir expression. The Syrah speaks clearly without artifice, yet the wine maintains an aromatic elegance that never sacrifices pleasure. A wine of substance and refinement, equally at home with hearty fare or quiet contemplation.
