Breeding
12 months in oak barrels, partly new wood.
On the eye
Deep, dark garnet. A wine of considerable substance and concentration.
On the nose
Red and dark fruits meld with earthy undertones, whilst subtle notes of vanilla and toast add refinement and warmth to the bouquet.
In the mouth
Powerful and fleshy on the palate, with a well-defined structure. Firm tannins and a savoury oak influence persist into a lingering finish.
The Cuvée des Vieux Ceps is ideally suited to the hearty fare of south-western France: cassoulet, duck confit, magret, and game. It pairs beautifully with Pyrenean sheep's cheese and Auvergne blue. A wine that honours both the table and the cellar.
