List of products by brand CHAMPAGNE PALMER & CO
Founded in 1947 by seven growers from Grands and Premiers Crus villages, Champagne Palmer & Co has grown into one of the most respected cooperative Houses in the Champagne appellation. Based in Reims since 1959, the House draws on 415 hectares across the region's most distinguished growing areas.
A cooperative born on the Grands Crus, rooted in Reims
The story of Champagne Palmer & Co begins at Avize, where seven growers came together in 1947 to vinify and market their own wines rather than sell grapes to the large négociant Houses. In 1959, the cooperative relocated to Reims, establishing itself at the northern gateway to the Montagne de Reims. It is one of the first Champagne cooperatives to obtain the status of société à mission — a French legal designation formalising social and environmental responsibilities alongside commercial objectives, subject to independent verification.
415 hectares across Champagne's finest terroirs
The House's 415 hectares span four key growing zones: the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Bar, the Côte de Sézanne, and the Vallée de la Marne. Each brings distinct character: structure and depth from Pinot Noir on the Montagne; freshness from the Bar; elegant Chardonnay from Sézanne; and the roundness of Pinot Meunier from the Marne valley. Beneath all lies the craie — chalk — that defines Champagne terroir, providing drainage, mineral tension and natural acidity. The House's cellars, carved into the chalk beneath Reims, provide ideal ageing conditions.
Certifications and responsible viticulture
Champagne Palmer & Co holds both HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and Terra Vitis certifications — independently audited standards reflecting a sustained effort to reduce chemical inputs and protect biodiversity across all 415 hectares. The three principal varieties — Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier — are each vinified to express their source terroir before blending.
The wines: blanc, rosé and prestige cuvées
- Blanc de Champagne — non-vintage and vintage expressions built on the House's broad terroir base, offering freshness, complexity and consistent quality across releases.
- Rosé de Champagne — structured, fruit-forward cuvées drawing on Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Bar.
- Prestige and special cuvées — selected expressions from the finest parcels and vintages, reflecting the depth of the grower network.
Why we have selected Champagne Palmer & Co
At Halles Quercamps, our selection reflects three convictions. First, the breadth of terroir: few Houses can draw on 415 hectares across four distinct growing zones, and that diversity is audible in the wines. Second, the rigour of the viticulture: HVE and Terra Vitis certification at this scale is genuinely demanding, and the société à mission status adds further accountability. Third, consistency: these wines perform reliably across vintages, which matters greatly to customers buying for the cellar or for gifting. We recommend the range to enthusiasts who value substance and appreciate knowing the growers behind the bottle.
