CHATEAU RIEUSSEC
Set on the slopes of Fargues in the Gironde, Château Rieussec is a Premier Cru Classé Sauternes spanning 85 hectares of sandy-gravelly soils above the Garonne. Once the property of the Carmelite monks of Langon, it was classified in 1855 and acquired in 1984 by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), whose stewardship has brought remarkable consistency to the estate. Its rich, complex whites — drawn from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle — represent Sauternes at its most precise. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the reliability of its vintages and the enduring legitimacy of its 1855 classification. A cornerstone reference for lovers of great Bordeaux liquoreux.
