DOMAINE BRANA
Perched on the steep Basque slopes of Ispoure and Bussunaritz in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Domaine Brana farms 16 hectares in organic conversion at the heart of the Irouléguy appellation. Rooted in the wine trade since 1897, Martine and Jean Brana established the first independent estate in the AOC in 1984, playing a decisive role in reviving white wine production here. On red triassic sandstone, argilite, and limestone, Tannat, Cabernet Franc, Gros Manseng, and Petit Manseng yield structured reds and characterful whites of real distinction. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for its historic place within one of France's most discreet appellations and for the precision with which it interprets these remarkable Pyrenean terroirs.
