CHATEAU TOUR MAILLET
Sitting on just 2 hectares of sandy, gravelly soils at the heart of the Pomerol appellation, Château Tour Maillet is one of those small right-bank châteaux that give Bordeaux's most sought-after commune its distinctive character. Founded in 1920 by Pierre Lagardère on a single hectare at the lieu-dit Maillet, the château is now guided by his grandsons Jean-Claude and Gaël, who maintain a precise, Merlot-led viticulture across this modest but well-situated parcel. Several Coups de Cœur in the Guide Hachette speak to the consistency of their work over the years. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the honesty and depth of its Pomerol reds — fleshy, well-structured wines that faithfully reflect their gravelly terroir. A family cru of modest scale, but admirable steadiness.
