  • The 2009 vintage in Bordeaux produced wines of remarkable concentration and balance. Château Trotanoy exemplifies this achievement: a wine of considerable depth, where richness and structure unite with elegant restraint.

Breeding
Ageing in French oak barrels for approximately 18 to 20 months, with a substantial proportion of new wood, imparting subtle oaked complexity and vanilla and toasted aromas.
On the eye
Deep purple robe with garnet highlights
On the nose
Complex and compelling bouquet: dark fruits, plum and truffle, leather and dark chocolate, with subtle spice and earthy undertones that unfold gradually
In the mouth
Generous attack with silky texture. Intense dark fruit flavours—blackberry, blackcurrant—interwoven with truffle, dark chocolate and gentle spice. Powerful yet refined tannins lead to a long, persistent finish marked by forest floor and liquorice notes

Château Trotanoy 2009 stands among the finest Pomerols of this exceptional vintage. Its aromatic richness, concentration and silky tannin structure represent the appellation at its most elegant. This is a wine of considerable ageing potential—expect it to evolve beautifully over several decades. Superb with duck, game or beef; equally rewarding on its own. A wine for serious collectors and those who appreciate the finest Right Bank Bordeaux.

CHATEAU TROTANOY

Set across 7 hectares on the western slope of the Pomerol plateau in Gironde, Château Trotanoy has stood among the appellation's foremost references since the late eighteenth century. Acquired by Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953, the château is now guided by the third generation of the family — Édouard Moueix — farming deep black clays and iron-rich subsoils that give the Merlot a characteristic density and complexity. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the integrity of its terroir, the consistent rigour of its winemaking, and the depth of its reds, which sit firmly within the great tradition of Pomerol. A name we recommend without hesitation to serious lovers of Right Bank Bordeaux.
