In the mouth
Balanced and generous on the palate, with supple tannins and good acidity. The wine shows immediate appeal yet possesses the structure to develop further complexity over the coming years. A measured, classical approach to Saint-Émilion.
On the nose
The Merlot's charm emerges immediately—ripe red fruits, plum, and subtle spice notes. The bouquet unfolds with aeration, revealing the mineral undertones characteristic of the gravelly plateau.
On the eye
Deep ruby with brilliant clarity; the colour speaks of ripe fruit and careful extraction
M. Francois
Figeac remains one of Bordeaux's most consistent expressions of terroir-driven winemaking. The 2022 vintage merits serious consideration from those seeking to understand what Premier Grand Cru Classé status truly means. This is a wine to taste, to understand, and to revisit as it matures.

CHATEAU FIGEAC

Set on the western edge of Saint-Émilion, Château Figeac extends across 54 hectares of Günzian gravel ridges — a terroir unlike any other on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Elevated to 1er Grand Cru Classé A in 2022, the château has been in the Manoncourt family since 1892; Frédéric Faye has led the estate since 2013, following sixty vintages shaped by Thierry Manoncourt. The blend, led by both Cabernets alongside Merlot, yields reds of remarkable aromatic precision and structure. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the singular character of its gravel terroir, the consistency of its style across decades, and the legitimacy conferred by its recent elevation to the very top of the Saint-Émilion hierarchy. An essential reference for any serious Bordeaux cellar.
