A distinguished voice of Saint-Emilion's finest terroir

  • This estate honours Albert Macquin, the 19th-century pioneer whose grafting techniques proved instrumental in combating phylloxera across Bordeaux. His legacy endures in the vineyard's meticulous viticulture.
  • The blend marries the supple fruit character of Merlot with the aromatic complexity of Cabernet Franc, creating a harmonious foundation of red and dark berry notes.
  • Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structural backbone and the characteristic black fruit profile that defines the wine's mineral-driven complexity and ageing potential.

In the mouth
Elegant and profound, the palate unfolds with mineral precision and fine-grained tannins. Dark fruit flavours persist through a long, composed finish.
On the nose
Aromas of red and dark berries mingle with floral notes and subtle spice, revealing the wine's layered aromatic profile and careful élevage.
On the eye
Deep garnet with youthful intensity
Breeding
In French oak barrels for 15 to 18 months
M. Francois
A wine of considerable finesse that pairs beautifully with a selection of regional French cheeses, particularly aged Comté or creamy Époisses. The mineral character and balanced structure also complement game terrines and charcuterie. Drinking well now, yet structured for patient cellaring.
