Breeding
In oak barrels (including a substantial proportion of new wood) for 18 months
On the eye
Deep purple robe, nearly opaque at the core, with vibrant violet hues at the rim.
On the nose
Aromas of dark fruits, truffle, and warm spices unfold, with subtle toasted oak notes adding complexity and refinement to the bouquet.
In the mouth
Intense and profound on the palate, with a fine-grained tannin structure that provides excellent definition. The wine shows real depth and persistence.
M. Francois
Troplong Mondot is a wine of character and conviction. Its paradoxical strength lies in the marriage of richness and power with a calcaire backbone that grants real breeding. Ideal for serious collectors and fine dining; particularly rewarding alongside a selection of regional cheeses.

CHATEAU TROPLONG MONDOT

Château Troplong Mondot stands at the highest point of the Saint-Émilion appellation — 106 metres above sea level — across 33 hectares of clay-limestone soils with flint. Founded in 1745 and promoted to 1er Grand Cru Classé B in 2006, the château reached its zenith under Christine Valette-Pariente, whose 1990 vintage earned a remarkable 98/100 from Robert Parker. Since 2017, the French reinsurance group SCOR has ensured continuity, with the estate now engaged in organic conversion. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the consistency of its exceptional terroir, the precision of its Merlot-led blends, and a quality trajectory confirmed across vintage after vintage. A Saint-Émilion built for the cellar.
