On the eye
Intense, brilliant ruby
On the nose
The wine opens with the charm of mature red fruits—plum and cherry—alongside subtle spice notes. Merlot's generous character is evident, yet restrained by the wine's inherent structure and elegance.
In the mouth
Balanced and generous on the palate, with a satisfying mid-weight structure. The finish is clean and persistent. This is a wine that will gain in complexity and refinement as it matures in bottle, revealing greater depth and nuance.

Chateau Figeac merits tasting at least once in a serious wine lover's life. The 2021 vintage captures the essence of this historic property—a wine that speaks to terroir, tradition, and the art of fine winemaking. Its appeal lies not in immediate gratification but in the quiet confidence of a wine made to last.

CHATEAU FIGEAC

Set on the western edge of Saint-Émilion, Château Figeac extends across 54 hectares of Günzian gravel ridges — a terroir unlike any other on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Elevated to 1er Grand Cru Classé A in 2022, the château has been in the Manoncourt family since 1892; Frédéric Faye has led the estate since 2013, following sixty vintages shaped by Thierry Manoncourt. The blend, led by both Cabernets alongside Merlot, yields reds of remarkable aromatic precision and structure. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the singular character of its gravel terroir, the consistency of its style across decades, and the legitimacy conferred by its recent elevation to the very top of the Saint-Émilion hierarchy. An essential reference for any serious Bordeaux cellar.
