In the mouth
Rich, deep and architecturally complex. The palate reveals layered fruit character supported by fine-grained tannins. The finish is long and composed, with a mineral quality that speaks to the terroir beneath the oak.
On the nose
Ripe dark fruits dominate, complemented by white pepper and liquorice notes. The élevage in new oak contributes subtle toasted and vanilla undertones that integrate harmoniously rather than dominate the bouquet.
On the eye
Deep garnet, with a lustrous core suggesting good concentration and vitality.
Breeding
In barrels (predominantly new oak) for approximately 20 months
M. Francois
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted game birds—a roasted quail with seasonal vegetables would be an excellent match. The wine's structure and acidity also make it a natural companion to beef preparations and mature cheeses. It is a wine that benefits from decanting an hour before service.

CHATEAU VALANDRAUD

Situated in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse in the Gironde, Château Valandraud is a Premier Grand Cru Classé B of the Saint-Émilion appellation, farmed across 10 hectares of clay-limestone soils by Thunevin SAS. Founded in 1989 by Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud, this château wrote one of the most remarkable chapters in modern Bordeaux: starting from just 0.6 hectares vinified in a garage in 1991, it earned Premier Grand Cru Classé B status in the 2012 classification. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its HVE-certified viticulture, the precision of its Merlot-led blends, and the extraordinary trajectory of a producer that genuinely redefined what Saint-Émilion could be. A Bordeaux reference we are proud to list.
