A defining voice of Bordeaux's garage wine movement

  • The wine displays a robust tannic structure with considerable concentration, the hallmark of serious Saint-Émilion terroir. These elements provide the foundation for a wine of substance and depth, built to reward patient cellaring.
  • This vintage possesses the balance and complexity necessary for extended ageing. The interplay between fruit, structure and oak integration suggests a wine that will develop further complexity over the coming years, revealing additional nuance with time.

In the mouth
Rich and profound, with layers of complexity. The palate shows good concentration and a refined tannic grip. The wine displays balance between fruit expression and structural elements, with a persistent finish that speaks to the quality of the vintage.
On the nose
Ripe dark fruits meld with spice and liquorice notes. The oak élevage contributes subtle toasted and vanilla nuances, well-integrated rather than dominant, adding textural interest without overwhelming the fruit.
On the eye
Garnet, with good depth of colour
Breeding
In barrels (predominantly new) for approximately 20 months
M. Francois
A wine of considerable merit with roasted game birds—roasted quail with seasonal vegetables would be an exemplary pairing. The wine's structure and depth complement the richness of the meat whilst the acidity cuts through the accompanying preparations, creating a harmonious table experience.
