Fine and Cellarable Prestige Champagne — The Investment-Grade Bottles
The finest prestige Champagnes are not just for immediate celebration — they are wines built for ageing, developing extraordinary complexity over decades. Dom Pérignon P2 and P3, Krug Clos du Mesnil, Salon Le Mesnil, Billecart-Salmon Nicolas François — these are bottles that belong in a serious fine wine cellar alongside the greatest Burgundies and Bordeaux. Our fine wine selection covers both current releases and older vintages.

Fine and Cellarable Prestige Champagne: An Investment-Grade Category
The finest prestige Champagnes are among the most cellarable wines in the world. While standard non-vintage Champagne is designed for early consumption, the great prestige cuvées are built to evolve over decades — developing extraordinary complexity, secondary and tertiary aromas, and a richness that bears no resemblance to the fresh, fruit-forward character of young Champagne.
Why Cellar Prestige Champagne?
The transformation with age: Great prestige Champagne undergoes profound change in the bottle. Fresh citrus and brioche evolve into honey, toasted nuts, marzipan, dried fruits, mushroom, and truffle. The bubbles integrate and become creamier. The wine gains weight and complexity without losing freshness.
The benchmark vintages: Certain vintages are recognised as exceptional for long-term ageing — 2008, 2002, 1996, 1988, 1982. Bottles from these years are still developing and improving.
The Investment-Grade Bottles
Dom Pérignon P2 and P3 — the ultimate expression of ageing Champagne. Released after 16 (P2) and 25+ (P3) years on the lees, these are wines of almost surreal complexity.
Krug Clos du Mesnil — single-vineyard Blanc de Blancs from one of Champagne's most celebrated walled plots. Produced only in exceptional vintages, extraordinarily complex and age-worthy.
Salon Le Mesnil — one of the rarest and most sought-after Champagnes, produced only in exceptional vintages from a single Grand Cru village.
Billecart-Salmon Clos Saint-Hilaire — a tiny production single-vineyard Blanc de Noirs, released only in exceptional years.
Buying Advice
When investing in prestige Champagne, provenance matters enormously. Our fine wine cellars maintain wines in optimal conditions — temperature-controlled, vibration-free, light-excluded. Every bottle we sell comes with full provenance documentation.
