A domain rooted in the history of Meursault

Founded in the early twentieth century, the estate reached a defining turning point in the 1960s when Bernard Michelot took the helm and built its reputation on the hillside vineyards of the commune of Meursault. His work established a style characterised by precision, restraint, and a faithful rendering of the appellation's limestone and marly soils. In 1985, Jean-François Mestre joined the estate upon marrying Bernard's daughter, marking the beginning of a new phase that preserved the founding philosophy while bringing fresh rigour to the cellar. The transition was careful and deliberate — the hallmark of a family that understands the value of continuity in Burgundy.

Terroir: limestone, marl, and the slopes of the Côte-d'Or

The estate's 17 hectares are planted on the characteristic soils of Meursault: a mosaic of limestone, marly limestone, magnesian limestone, and clay-limestone, spread across south- to south-east-facing slopes at altitudes ranging from 250 to 320 metres.
