The property's origins reach back to the fifteenth century, when it was known as the Château de Béguey. Acquired in 1958 by Jacques David, it took a defining turn in 1976 when Denis Dubourdieu — oenologist at the University of Bordeaux and widely regarded as one of the foremost authorities on white Bordeaux — took over the estate. His influence on the understanding of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon in the Gironde was profound, earning him the informal title of « le pape du blanc ». Under his direction, and now continued by the Vignobles Denis Dubourdieu Domaines, Château Reynon became a reference point not merely for the Cadillac area but for the Bordeaux appellation as a whole.
