The Castéja family has been at the heart of Bordeaux négociant life for generations, and their decision to add Peyrabon to their portfolio signals a clear ambition: to sharpen the château's identity and raise the standard of its wines within the Haut-Médoc appellation.
Winemaking in the Médoc tradition
The encépagement at Château Peyrabon is a classic left-bank blend: Cabernet Sauvignon leads, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This combination, well suited to the gravelly soils of the Haut-Médoc, produces wines with firm tannins, good aromatic definition and the structural backbone to reward cellaring. The Héritiers Castéja bring to Peyrabon the same technical seriousness they apply at their Pauillac properties, with a focus on precision in the vineyard and careful élevage in the chai.
