A refined Haut-Médoc from the heart of Bordeaux's Left Bank

  • This elegant wine displays silky tannins that speak to careful vineyard management and considered winemaking. The structure is well-defined without heaviness, offering the kind of balance that rewards patient cellaring.
  • The wine unfolds with a pleasing interplay of ripe fruit and subtle oak influence. It possesses the restraint and complexity characteristic of the finest Haut-Médoc terroirs, developing gracefully in the glass.
  • Black spice notes define the aromatic profile, complemented by hints of vanilla that emerge from thoughtful élevage. These layered aromas suggest a wine of some depth and character.

In the mouth
The palate opens with bright fruit expression before developing into softer, more integrated oak notes on the finish. The tannins are refined, and the overall impression is one of balance and restraint.
On the nose
The bouquet is direct and expressive, revealing black spice notes with a subtle vanilla undertone. The aromatics suggest careful oak ageing without dominating the fruit character.
On the eye
Deep purple robe with excellent colour intensity, suggesting good concentration and ripeness at harvest.
M. Francois
This Haut-Médoc pairs excellently with duck breast, beef bourguignon, and aged Comté cheese. It represents the kind of food-friendly claret that rewards the British table, offering substance without ostentation. Best enjoyed at 16–17°C.

CHATEAU HAUT COUREY

Situated 25 km from Bordeaux, halfway between the city and Pauillac, Château Haut Courey cultivates just 1.4 ha of vines on clay-limestone soils within the Haut-Médoc appellation. This small but focused château produces red wines only, blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc through traditional vinification, with a careful 14-month élevage in barrel. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its viticulture, the consistency of its élevage, and the genuine Médoc character it achieves despite its modest scale. A confidential address for lovers of classic Bordeaux — far from the grand labels, yet true in spirit to the Médoc.
