The true expression of Haut-Médoc terroir

  • Planted on deep gravels and gravel beds with clay foundation, the vineyard captures the distinctive mineral character of the appellation. This terroir imparts precision and structure to the wine.
  • Well-knit tannin architecture provides excellent cellaring potential. The wine develops complexity over time, revealing secondary characteristics whilst maintaining its essential elegance and balance.
  • Direct from the château through Les Halles de Quercamps, offering access to serious Bordeaux without the premium typically demanded for wines of this calibre and breeding.

Breeding
In barrels (including some new oak) for 12 to 15 years
On the eye
Deep and intense garnet, nearly opaque in its youth, with excellent colour saturation.
On the nose
Blackcurrant and blackberry dominate, interwoven with spice, liquorice and subtle oak. With age, cedary notes emerge alongside tobacco and graphite—hallmarks of the gravelly Médoc terroir.
In the mouth
Substantial and well-proportioned, with refined tannins that carry excellent grip without harshness. The Cabernet's structure and the Merlot's roundness achieve remarkable equilibrium, delivering both power and charm.
M. Francois
Château Sénéjac represents the finest expression of Haut-Médoc for those seeking the character of the classified growths without the corresponding outlay. Under Talbot's technical direction, the wine has gained precision and elegance. Serious in structure yet beguiling in its fruit expression—a wine of genuine substance for the table.
