From the finest terroirs of Domaine de la Citadelle
This Luberon red displays the balance and structure characteristic of northern Rhône wines. The 2015 vintage offers excellent harmony between ripe fruit and well-integrated oak, with a framework of refined tannins.
The Gourverneur possesses considerable length and distinction on the palate. Its architecture suggests genuine ageing potential, rewarding patience with further complexity over the coming decade.
The Domaine has farmed organically since 2016 and holds HVE certification (Haute Valeur Environnementale), reflecting a commitment to environmental stewardship alongside quality viticulture.

In the mouth
The attack is smooth and inviting, leading to a full-bodied palate with excellent structure. Ripe dark fruits and spice notes persist across the mid-palate, supported by well-crafted tannins and judicious oak influence that enhances rather than dominates.
On the nose
The bouquet is notably intense, with rich blackberry and blackcurrant notes complemented by liquorice. Subtle vanilla and toasted oak nuances add elegance and complexity to the aromatic profile.
On the eye
Deep ruby-red robe with profound colour intensity and excellent clarity.
Breeding
Aged in new oak for 60% and 40% in one-year-old barrels for 12 months
This wine pairs beautifully with risotto finished with young Parmesan and Sarawak pepper. The wine's structure and fruit-forward character complement the creamy rice and subtle heat of the pepper, whilst the acidity cleanses the palate between spoonfuls.

Domaine de la Citadelle is a wine estate in Ménerbes (Vaucluse), Luberon appellation. Founded in 1990 by Yves Rousset-Rouard. Around 42 hectares on clay-limestone soils.
