Grenache, Syrah, Carignan

A refined blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan from Luberon

  • This cuvée captures a genuine expression of fruit character, with the structure and balance that distinguish the finest Luberon productions. The blend demonstrates the potential of the appellation when handled with restraint and precision.
  • Nine months' élevage in large wooden foudres has imparted subtle complexity without masking the wine's natural character. The oak integration is seamless, allowing the fruit and terroir to remain paramount.
  • The vineyard's exceptional terroir—limestone and clay soils with Mediterranean exposure—yields wines of uncommon freshness and verticality for the southern Rhône. This is modern Luberon at its most disciplined.

Product features : Chateau la Verrerie 2012 — Luberon

Breeding
Aged 15 to 18 months in large oak vats.
On the eye
Clear, bright ruby with subtle garnet edges. The colour suggests maturity and finesse.
On the nose
Aromas of wild raspberry and blueberry are complemented by darker notes of preserved black fruits and subtle balsamic undertones. The bouquet develops with aeration, revealing further complexity.
In the mouth
The palate is full-bodied yet remarkably fresh, with dense fruit and a rounded structure. Acidity provides lift and definition, creating a wine of considerable intensity and length.
M. Francois
Château la Verrerie exemplifies contemporary Luberon: powerful, elegant and refreshingly restrained. Where lesser southern wines can become heavy-handed, this maintains impressive verticality and poise. An excellent accompaniment to beef stews, braised meats and robust provincial fare. A wine of genuine character and balance.
