WINE | WHITE WINE | BORDEAUX | SAUTERNES
Bottle of : 75cl

Noble rot concentration from the Garonne and Ciron valleys

  • Positioned in the heart of Sauternes, Château Haut-Bergeron benefits from the morning mists generated by the Garonne and Ciron rivers. These conditions are essential for botrytis cinerea—noble rot—which concentrates sugars in the grapes and creates the foundation for fine liquoreux wines.
  • Sémillon provides richness and unctuousness to this blend, whilst Sauvignon Blanc contributes freshness and acidity, creating equilibrium between natural sweetness and elegance. The result is a Sauternes of both substance and refinement, with notable vivacity.
  • This wine rewards early drinking for its fruited brightness, yet possesses considerable ageing potential. Over time, it will develop increasingly complex aromas of honey, dried fruits and saffron, deepening into a more profound expression of its terroir.

Breeding
Aged in oak barrels for 18 to 24 months, imparting additional vanilla and spice aromas whilst preserving the wine's fruit freshness.
On the eye
Intense golden robe with brilliant, luminous reflections
On the nose
Expressive and layered bouquet: exotic fruits, candied apricot, honey and beeswax, with delicate floral notes that evolve as the wine opens in the glass.
In the mouth
Unctuous and silken on the palate, with concentrated flavours of preserved fruits—apricot and peach—alongside honey, marmalade and white flowers. Spiced notes and a whisper of almond provide complexity. The finish is long and elegant, with sufficient acidity to balance the inherent sweetness.
M. Francois
A Sauternes of considerable finesse. Château Haut-Bergeron pairs beautifully with desserts, blue cheeses such as Roquefort, and foie gras. Its complex fruit preserves character, silken texture and equilibrium between sweetness and freshness make it essential for serious collectors. Enjoy now for its fruited intensity, or cellar for decades as it develops greater depth and aromatic complexity.

CHATEAU HAUT-BERGERON

At Preignac, in the heart of the Sauternes appellation, Château Haut-Bergeron covers 37 hectares of clay-gravel and clay-limestone soils, farmed organically. Founded in 1756 and in the Lamothe family since 1820, this is a château shaped by nine generations of dedication to the great sweet wines of Bordeaux — a commitment reflected in 118 medals, 68 of them gold, awarded since 1964. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the consistency of its quality over time, the integrity of its organic approach, and the typicity of its Sauternes, which balance concentration with genuine freshness. A dependable reference for lovers of fine Bordeaux liquoreux.
