In the mouth
Remarkable fullness on the palate. The tannin structure is substantial yet rounded, providing grip without harshness. A long, delicate finish carries whispers of vanilla. Power and elegance are in genuine harmony here.
On the nose
Refined aromatics dominated by dark stone fruits—blueberry and blackberry—with subtle spice notes woven throughout. The bouquet is composed and inviting, neither aggressive nor reserved.
On the eye
Deep, intense ruby. A profound red hue that speaks to the wine's concentration and maturity.
Breeding
Aged in oak foudres and wooden vats for 24 months.
M. Francois
This Madiran complements charcuterie, steak tartare, roasted beef, lamb cutlets, grilled duck breast, guinea fowl, cep omelettes, game birds, and sheep's milk cheeses. A versatile food wine of genuine substance.

CHATEAU D'AYDIE

At the foot of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Château d'Aydie farms 58 hectares on the sun-drenched slopes of Aydie, at the heart of one of the South-West's most distinctive appellations, Madiran. Founded in 1927 by Frédéric Laplace and still in family hands, the estate has made Tannat its calling card: dense, structured reds built for the cellar, alongside whites drawn from Petit and Gros Manseng. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the integrity of its HVE-certified vineyard, the diversity of its soils — argilo-calcaires, gravelly terraces and boulbènes — and the remarkable consistency of its wines across vintages. A reliable reference for anyone who wants the true character of the South-West, without compromise.
