A flagship Alsatian domaine with roots extending to the seventeenth century

  • A seductive wine displaying a refined bouquet of preserved citrus and stone fruits, with the characteristic mineral smokiness and tension that distinguish the finest Alsatian Pinot Gris.
  • This wine of considerable ageing potential reveals layered complexity: smoky minerality, elegant structure, and a lengthy finish that speaks to the terroir of the Sommerberg vineyard.
  • An excellent companion to foie gras, particularly when served with preserved fruits or spiced preparations. Also pairs well with Alsatian charcuterie and refined poultry dishes.

Breeding
Aged on lees in old wooden vats.
M. Francois
This wine shows particular affinity with foie gras, whether served classically or with fruit accompaniments. It also complements Moroccan-influenced dishes such as veal tagine with almonds, and creole-style preparations. The wine's structure and minerality make it equally at home as an aperitif or paired with refined seafood preparations.

DOMAINE ALBERT BOXLER

Based in Niedermorschwihr in the Haut-Rhin, Domaine Albert Boxler farms 14 hectares of steep granite hillsides under the Alsace appellation, with yields deliberately held to 30–35 hl/ha. The Boxler family has been rooted in this village since 1672; Albert Boxler made the estate's first domaine-bottling in 1946, a standard his grandson Jean has upheld since taking the helm in 1996. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the precision, tension and mineral drive of its whites — Riesling above all — drawn from lean granitic soils that give the wines a clarity and backbone rarely matched in Alsace. A discreet but thoroughly reliable address for lovers of great dry whites.
