The essence of Alsatian terroir in a glass of refined elegance

  • The Sonnenglanz vineyard occupies a south-east-facing slope between 220 and 270 metres altitude, a position that captures optimal sun exposure throughout the growing season.
  • A distinctive microclimate characterised by exceptionally low rainfall—fewer than 500 mm annually—concentrates the fruit and allows full phenolic ripeness in the Pinot Gris.
  • The wine displays remarkable richness of texture and palate weight, coupled with an unusually long finish that speaks to the site's quality and the vintage's maturity. This is a wine of genuine substance and complexity.

Product features : Trapet Sonnenglanz 2010 Pinot Gris White 75cl

In the mouth
Warm, well-balanced attack with excellent structure. The palate is full and generous, yet retains elegance. Exceptional persistence on the finish, with a mineral undertone that anchors the wine's richness.
On the nose
Concentrated and refined aromatic profile: ripe stone fruits, honeyed notes, and subtle spice. The bouquet remains fresh despite the wine's richness, revealing layers of complexity with time in glass.
On the eye
Deep golden hue, suggesting ripeness and concentration.
Breeding
It originates from fairly heavy, well-structured and very stony soil, derived from conglomerates of calcareous pebbles and interstratified marls from the Oligocene, bordering the Rhine graben.
M. Francois
This is a genuine expression of what Alsace's finest terroirs can achieve. The Sonnenglanz site has always produced wines of real depth and character, and this vintage is no exception. I recommend it to those seeking a white wine of substance—complex enough for serious study, yet refined enough for the finest table. It bridges the gap between everyday pleasure and serious collecting.
