- The Altenbourg lieu-dit sits between 220 and 300 metres altitude on the gentle slopes of Kientzheim, positioned just below the Grand Cru Furstentum boundary. This precise positioning defines the vineyard's distinctive microclimate and mineral expression.
- The deep argilo-calcareous soils of this hillside are recognised both geologically and through generations of empirical observation as ideally suited to Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer cultivation, yielding wines of considerable depth and complexity.

A wine of considerable versatility at table. Pair with foie gras, cream-based veal dishes, chicken with morels, or Chinese cuisine. Also excellent with aged cheeses—Comté, Beaufort, Gruyère—where its weight and complexity complement the savoury depth beautifully.

Domaine Weinbach is a wine estate in Kaysersberg (Haut-Rhin), Alsace. Founded in 1612 by the Capuchins. Around 30 hectares including the Clos des Capucins (monopole). Grapes: Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir. Grand crus: Schlossberg, Furstentum, Mambourg. Biodynamic farming. One of Alsace's greatest estates.
