One of Alsace's finest domaines, with roots reaching back to the late 17th century

  • Half of the domaine's vineyard holdings are classified Grand Cru, reflecting the exceptional terroir of the Alsace region and the family's commitment to quality over quantity.
  • Selection de Grains Nobles is produced only in the finest vintages, when noble rot conditions allow the grapes to achieve the concentration and complexity this style demands.
  • Remarkably approachable when young, this wine possesses the structure and natural acidity to develop beautifully over a decade or more, revealing greater complexity with patient ageing.

Product features : Boxler Brand Sgn 2011 Pinot Gris White 50cl

In the mouth
Lusciously textured yet perfectly balanced palate. Honeyed richness is tempered by vibrant acidity and a saline minerality that carries through to a lingering, elegant finish
On the nose
Pure, mineral-driven bouquet with subtle notes of white stone fruit and honeyed complexity characteristic of botrytised Pinot Gris
On the eye
Brilliant pale gold with greenish glints
M. Francois
A wine of considerable finesse. The noble rot has concentrated the fruit without overwhelming the varietal character — you'll find it equally at home with Asian-inflected dishes, fresh fruit preparations, or simply as a meditation wine. The acidity keeps it from cloying; the complexity rewards contemplation. A genuine expression of Alsatian terroir at its most refined.

DOMAINE ALBERT BOXLER

Based in Niedermorschwihr in the Haut-Rhin, Domaine Albert Boxler farms 14 hectares of steep granite hillsides under the Alsace appellation, with yields deliberately held to 30–35 hl/ha. The Boxler family has been rooted in this village since 1672; Albert Boxler made the estate's first domaine-bottling in 1946, a standard his grandson Jean has upheld since taking the helm in 1996. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the precision, tension and mineral drive of its whites — Riesling above all — drawn from lean granitic soils that give the wines a clarity and backbone rarely matched in Alsace. A discreet but thoroughly reliable address for lovers of great dry whites.
