Château Haut Marbuzet 2023: refined Bordeaux elegance

  • This Saint-Estephe embodies the discipline and finesse of traditional Bordeaux winemaking. The 2023 vintage demonstrates the châteauʼs commitment to balance, delivering a wine of genuine character and restraint that rewards patient cellaring.
  • The terroir of Saint-Estephe speaks through this wine with clarity. Haut Marbuzet has long been recognised for wines that combine structure with approachability, offering the serious wine enthusiast genuine depth without pretension.
  • A magnum format suited to considered drinking and modest cellaring. This is a wine for the table rather than display—one that will develop gracefully over the coming years and complement a thoughtful dinner with distinction.

CHATEAU HAUT-MARBUZET

Set on the slopes of Saint-Estèphe overlooking the Gironde, Château Haut-Marbuzet extends across 75 hectares of Günzian gravels over a clay-limestone subsoil, at the heart of one of the Médoc's most dependable appellations. Acquired in 1952 by Hervé Duboscq — then just 7 hectares purchased en viager — the château was rebuilt plot by plot from the former Mac-Carthy estate, and classified Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in 2003. Today it is run by Bruno and Hugues Duboscq, the third generation. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the consistency of its reds, the honest expression of its gravel terroir, and the long-term commitment of a family working entirely on their own terms. A reliable reference for lovers of characterful Saint-Estèphe.
