A historic Saint-Estèphe bearing the royal monogram

  • The château's label bears the royal monogram, a nod to its storied past when Henri II and Diane de Poitiers were said to favour the estate for their private encounters. A tangible connection to Bordeaux history.
  • Amongst the oldest established vineyard properties within the Saint-Estèphe appellation, Château la Haye represents continuity of winemaking tradition and deep knowledge of its terroir on the Left Bank.
  • A well-crafted Saint-Estèphe offering genuine character and structure at a measured price point—a considered choice for those seeking authentic Bordeaux without unnecessary expense.

Product features : Chateau la Haye 2017 — Saint-Estèphe

Breeding
Approximately 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with garnet highlights
On the nose
Fresh cassis and red cherry with a subtle undertone of bilberry. The aromatics are clean and inviting, speaking to the wine's balance and freshness.
In the mouth
Direct and forthright on the palate. The wine enters with pleasing energy and maintains a clean, linear structure. Tannins are present but well-integrated, supporting rather than dominating.
M. Francois
The wine's structure and freshness suit it well to grilled beef—a côte de boeuf would be an excellent match—or to game birds such as quail. A fine cheese course, particularly aged Comté or a mature Bordeaux-region cheese, would also reveal the wine's depth without overshadowing it.
