Breeding
Aged in half new oak barrels
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with violet-tinged edges, suggesting maturity and structure.
On the nose
Concentrated red fruit aromas form the foundation, with secondary notes of vanilla and leather developing as the wine opens. The aromatic profile is layered and evolving.
In the mouth
Immediate roundness and weight on the palate, with a structured, full-bodied character. The wine displays the muscularity typical of the appellation, with a sustained finish.

Well-suited to grilled beef à la bordelaise, game preparations including venison and pheasant, and dishes featuring mushrooms or truffle. The wine's structure complements rich sauces and substantial proteins. Decant before service to allow the wine to develop fully.

CHATEAU COTE DE BALEAU

Set across 18 hectares on the edge of Saint-Émilion, Château Côte de Baleau produces a Grand Cru Classé red on the clay-limestone and sandy soils characteristic of Bordeaux's Right Bank. Founded in 1643 under Louis XIV, this historic château was acquired in 2013 by the Cuvelier family — also proprietors of Clos Fourtet and Château Poujeaux — who have since undertaken a thorough revival of the vineyard. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour the Cuvelier family has brought since their arrival, the consistency of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend, and the reliable quality of a Grand Cru Classé well worth following. A Saint-Émilion of real character, rooted in history and driven by ambition.
