In the mouth

A well-made Saumur-Champigny that pairs naturally with charcuterie and cured meats, where its acidity and tannin structure complement salt and fat. Also excellent with roasted or grilled preparations. The 2020 vintage shows good ripeness whilst retaining the freshness characteristic of the appellation.

DOMAINE DES CLOSIERS
Set across 24 hectares of argilo-calcaire and tuffeau slopes in Parnay, Maine-et-Loire, Domaine des Closiers produces red and white wines under the Saumur appellation. Taken over in 2019 by Anatole de la Brosse, a former consultant guided by Nady Foucault of Clos Rougeard and Michel Chevré, the estate earned its Ecocert organic certification in 2023, having already achieved HVE status in 2017. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its organic conversion, the distinctive character of its tuffeau terroirs, and the precision with which Anatole de la Brosse interprets Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc. A Loire address well worth following.
