A single-vineyard expression of Cornas terroir

  • Produced from exceptionally old vines planted in 1919, this wine carries the depth and complexity that only mature vineyard sites can impart. The age of these plantings contributes a distinctive mineral character to the finished wine.
  • The élevage has been carefully managed to preserve the wine's purity and elegance. Rather than overwhelming the fruit, the winemaking allows the Syrah's natural qualities to develop with restraint and balance.
  • The finish displays remarkable harmony, with white pepper and warm spice notes lingering gracefully. These secondary characteristics complement rather than dominate, reflecting the wine's underlying structure and finesse.

Breeding
16 months in new oak barrels (15%), one-year-old barrels (30%), two-year-old barrels (55%)
On the eye
Deep ruby, almost black at the core, with excellent colour intensity and clarity.
On the nose
Violet and liquorice notes emerge first, followed by white pepper and subtle spice. The bouquet develops gradually, revealing the wine's complexity without aggression.
In the mouth
Ample and generous on the palate, with fine-grained tannins that integrate seamlessly. The fruit remains pure and focused, with good length and a composed finish that suggests years of development ahead.
M. Francois
This wine pairs exceptionally well with lamb, particularly a carré d'agneau. The wine's structure and spice notes complement the meat's richness without overwhelming delicate preparations. Also suited to game and mature cheeses.
