Altitude defines character: 136 metres of terroir expression

  • A generously structured red wine with compelling depth and a sustained finish. The elevation of the Pech Cézarine vineyard imparts a natural acidity that brings freshness and remarkable drinkability to this Saint-Chinian.
  • This is a gastronomic red that bridges accessibility with serious winemaking. Laurent Miquel has captured the distinctive freshness of the Pech Cézarine lieu-dit, avoiding the over-ripeness that can afflict southern French reds.
  • A versatile companion to beef, game, and Mediterranean fare. Its balanced structure and silky tannins make it equally at home alongside a rich chocolate dessert, where it offers intriguing contrast.

Product features : Laurent Miquel Saint-Chinian Cote 136 Pech Cezarine 2020

Breeding
A small quantity is aged in new French oak barrels using wood
On the eye
Deep crimson robe with good intensity
On the nose
Blackcurrant and wild herbs emerge first, followed by subtle spice notes. The bouquet reflects the cool-climate influence of the vineyard's altitude.
In the mouth
Silky tannins and well-judged concentration lead to a long, clean finish. Natural acidity from the elevation provides tension and lift, ensuring the wine remains elegant and digestible throughout.
M. Francois
Cote 136 Rouge occupies an intelligent middle ground—more structured than the Solas range, yet more approachable than heavier Saint-Chinian cuvées. This is balanced, food-friendly winemaking that respects terroir without overstatement. Pair with beef to reveal the wine's true potential.

DOMAINE LAURENT MIQUEL

Based in Cessenon-sur-Orb in the Hérault, Domaine Laurent Miquel farms 200 hectares under certified organic agriculture across the Languedoc appellation. A winemaking family since 1791, Laurent — a trained engineer — took over in 1996 as the eighth generation and made history as the first producer to grow Albariño in France. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the coherence of its viticultural project, the diversity of its terroirs — limestone at Cazal Viel, clay-limestone at Auzines — and the precision of its reds, whites, and rosés. A benchmark address for anyone wishing to explore the full depth of the Languedoc.
