Breeding
12–16 months in French oak barrels
On the eye
Deep ruby red with purple highlights
On the nose
Expressive and well-balanced bouquet: ripe dark fruits interwoven with subtle spice and restrained oak influence, showing good aromatic complexity
In the mouth
Soft yet present tannins support a harmonious structure. The palate shows good freshness and balance, with the fruit and spice elements integrating cleanly through to a measured finish
M. Francois
A well-judged blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc that captures the essence of Pomerol's terroir. The wine demonstrates fine structure and elegance, with neither component dominating. The tannins are sufficiently resolved to allow near-term enjoyment, whilst the underlying balance suggests modest cellaring potential.

CHATEAU TAILLEFER

Situated at Libourne in the Gironde, Château Taillefer covers 12 hectares under the Bordeaux appellation, on a south-facing slope of silica, gravel and iron-rich blue clay. First acquired by Antoine Moueix in 1923 — founder of the celebrated Moueix dynasty — the château already appears on the Belleyme map of 1761, commissioned by Louis XV. Taken over in 2013 by Claire Moueix and Cyril Basteau, it is today farmed with rigour under HVE and Terra Vitis certification. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the seriousness of its viticulture, the depth of its Libournais roots, and the consistency of a Merlot–Cabernet Franc blend shaped by a genuinely distinguished terroir. A reliable address for lovers of characterful Bordeaux.
