A château reborn: from Clos Bel-Air to Grand Cru distinction

  • This Saint-Émilion displays a compelling balance of power and refinement. The wine possesses considerable structure and depth, yet maintains an elegant composure that rewards patient appreciation. A wine of genuine complexity rather than mere extraction.
  • Classified Grand Cru in 2006, Fleur Cardinale is built for the cellar. The 2022 vintage shows the constitution to develop gracefully over two decades or more, its tannins gradually softening whilst retaining the wine's essential character and integrity.
  • Produced organically on the Right Bank's finest terroir, this wine represents the marriage of traditional viticulture with modern rigour. The 2022 combines the vintage's natural elegance with the estate's consistent pursuit of balance and authenticity.

Product features : Château Fleur Cardinale 2022 — Saint-Émilion Grand Cru — Organic

In the mouth
The palate reveals generous substance with silky, well-integrated tannins. The wine moves with equilibrium and poise, the fruit remaining central whilst mineral undertones provide freshness and definition. A wine of genuine substance.
On the nose
The bouquet unfolds with ripe dark fruits—blackcurrant and plum—complemented by subtle floral notes and a whisper of spice. The aromatic profile is intense yet composed, suggesting both immediate appeal and further development.
On the eye
Deep, concentrated colour with excellent density and definition throughout the glass.
Breeding
Aged 12 to 14 months in oak barrels.
M. Francois
Fleur Cardinale's structure and weight suit it admirably to game birds—roasted quail or pigeon—where its tannins and fruit intensity find natural partners. Equally, a simply roasted chicken allows the wine's elegance and complexity to emerge without competition. Decant an hour before service to permit full expression.
