WINE | RED WINE | BORDEAUX | PESSAC-LEOGNAN ROUGE
Bottle of : 0.75L

The second wine of a 1855 First Growth

  • Crafted from the same vineyard parcels as Château Haut-Brion itself, Le Clarence de Haut-Brion expresses the classic Pessac-Léognan blend. The gravelly terroir of this historic appellation imparts structure and refinement to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc in perfect harmony.
  • A fitting tribute to Clarence Dillon, the American visionary who acquired Haut-Brion in 1935 and elevated it to international prominence. His legacy continues through this elegant second wine, which honours both tradition and the estate's unwavering commitment to quality.
  • Sourced directly from the château and offered through Les Halles de Quercamps, this wine reaches you with the authenticity and fair valuation that comes from working as a merchant for nearly fifty years. No unnecessary markup, simply honest pricing for a genuine Bordeaux.

Product features : Le Clarence de Haut-Brion 2022 — Pessac-Léognan

Breeding
18 to 22 months in oak barrels
On the eye
Deep garnet, with an intense, luminous core that speaks to ripe fruit and careful extraction.
On the nose
Mature red and dark berry fruit dominates, with secondary notes of graphite and cedar emerging as the wine opens. A restrained elegance rather than overt perfume; the nose develops gradually in the glass.
In the mouth
Juicy on entry, with supple tannins that carry the palate through the mid-section. The finish is seductive and generously proportioned without heaviness. A wine of balance and charm, drinking well now yet with the structure to age gracefully.
M. Francois
Le Clarence de Haut-Brion represents excellent value within the Pessac-Léognan hierarchy. The 2022 vintage captures the elegance of the appellation—gravelly soils producing wines of definition rather than mere power. This is a wine for those who appreciate the subtlety of Left Bank Bordeaux and understand that a second wine from a First Growth often outperforms many classified growths. Drink from 2025 onwards; expect a decade of pleasure ahead.
