In the mouth
The palate reveals immediate roundness alongside considerable structure and power. A seductive, full-bodied wine with a coherent bouquet that speaks to careful winemaking.
On the nose
Concentrated red fruit aromas form the foundation, developing into a broader aromatic spectrum. Notes of vanilla and leather emerge, adding complexity and depth to the bouquet.
On the eye
Deep ruby hue with violet reflections, suggesting youth and structure.
Breeding
Aged in half new oak barrels
M. Francois
A natural companion to grilled entrecôte à la bordelaise or richly sauced meat dishes such as civet de lièvre and salmis de faisan. The wine's structure suits game birds and mushroom or truffle-based preparations particularly well.

CHATEAU COTE DE BALEAU

Set across 18 hectares on the edge of Saint-Émilion, Château Côte de Baleau produces a Grand Cru Classé red on the clay-limestone and sandy soils characteristic of Bordeaux's Right Bank. Founded in 1643 under Louis XIV, this historic château was acquired in 2013 by the Cuvelier family — also proprietors of Clos Fourtet and Château Poujeaux — who have since undertaken a thorough revival of the vineyard. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour the Cuvelier family has brought since their arrival, the consistency of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend, and the reliable quality of a Grand Cru Classé well worth following. A Saint-Émilion of real character, rooted in history and driven by ambition.
