One of the Médoc's most venerable estates

  • In the hands of the Borie family since 1978, Grand-Puy Lacoste continues a tradition of winemaking excellence stretching back centuries. The family's stewardship has refined the château's character whilst respecting its heritage.
  • This 2022 displays remarkable equilibrium: a wine of genuine charm and elegance, underpinned by freshness and a lengthy, crystalline finish. The balance between fruit and structure speaks to careful viticulture and measured élevage.
  • A wine of sufficient depth and structure to reward cellaring. Those with patience may consider laying down several bottles to observe how the vintage develops over the coming decade.

Breeding
In French oak barrels (fine grain) with 75% new wood for 16 to 18 months
On the eye
Deep purple-red, intense and luminous
On the nose
Ripe dark fruits dominate, with violet and subtle spice notes. A mineral undertone adds definition and freshness to the bouquet.
In the mouth
The attack is precise and linear, developing into well-ripened, integrated tannins. The wine's structure is evident yet refined, with a sustained finish.
M. Francois
A natural companion to beef dishes with depth and substance—a braised beef with warm spices finds particular harmony with this wine's mineral framework and ripe fruit character. The wine's acidity and tannin structure complement rich, savoury preparations admirably.
