Product features : Chateau Croizet-Bages - 5eme Cru Classé 2016 — Pauillac

Breeding
12 to 14 months in French oak barrels
On the eye
Deep purple with garnet highlights at the rim, suggesting mature development and structure.
On the nose
Vigorous and characterful. Blackcurrant and wild bramble mingle with cedary notes, a signature Pauillac signature that speaks to the Left Bank terroir and the wine's breeding.
In the mouth
Well-structured and architecturally sound. The tannins are present and firm—typical of Pauillac—yet softened by Merlot's contribution, lending roundness without compromise. The palate is straight, balanced, with genuine grip and length.
M. Francois
Croizet-Bages embodies classical Pauillac: honest, unpretentious, and true to its terroir. It eschews fashionable extraction in favour of precision and elegance. The 2016 marks a notable refinement in texture and definition. For those seeking the authentic expression of Left Bank power—dark fruits, cedar, structure—without the premium demanded by the super-seconds, this represents judicious cellaring. A wine of genuine gastronomic purpose.

CHATEAU CROIZET-BAGES

Set on the Bages plateau in Pauillac, Château Croizet-Bages covers 30 contiguous hectares of deep gravel soils, classified 5th Grand Cru in the historic 1855 ranking. Paul Quié rescued the château in 1942 after a difficult period; today the third generation, Anne-Françoise and Jean-Philippe Quié, leads the estate with HVE certification and a renewed focus on precision viticulture. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the consistency of its Pauillac, its classically structured Cabernet Sauvignon-led profile, and its honest standing within the 1855 classification. A Pauillac of genuine character, faithful to the identity of the Bages plateau.
