One of the Médoc's most venerable estates

  • In the hands of the Borie family since 1978, Grand-Puy Lacoste continues a tradition stretching back centuries. The estate's commitment to quality and terroir-driven winemaking remains unwavering, producing wines of genuine distinction.
  • This 2011 achieves an admirable equilibrium between charm and structure. The wine displays elegant fruit, mineral freshness, and a notably long, pure finish—a testament to careful élevage and the maturity of the vintage.
  • A wine of sufficient depth and balance to reward cellaring. Those with patience may find it worthwhile to set aside several bottles for the cellar, as the tannins will continue to integrate beautifully over the coming years.

Product features : Chateau Grand-Puy Lacoste - 5eme Cru Classé 2011 — Pauillac

In the mouth
The attack is precise and linear, unfolding across fully mature, integrated tannins. The wine maintains excellent structure throughout, with a dry finish that lingers with purity and aromatic complexity.
On the nose
Ripe dark fruits, violet, and spice notes are complemented by a mineral freshness that speaks to the gravelly terroir of Pauillac. The aromatics are well-defined and inviting.
On the eye
Deep purple-red, intense and luminous
Breeding
In French oak barrels (fine grain) with 75% new wood for 16 to 18 months
M. Francois
A natural companion to beef dishes prepared with depth and spice—think braised beef with warm spices. The wine's mineral backbone and ripe tannins provide an excellent foil to rich, savoury preparations. Decant gently before service to allow the wine to open.
