A Saint-Émilion Grand Cru of genuine substance and restraint

  • This wine combines power with elegance. The structure is evident without dominating; the tannins are present yet refined. A wine that speaks of serious winemaking rather than extraction.
  • Oak ageing has contributed toasted and spiced notes that integrate naturally with the fruit. The élevage is judicious—enhancing rather than masking the wine's inherent character.
  • A dependable choice for the table. Whether with a cheese course, roasted meats, or game, this wine proves itself a reliable companion without pretension.

Breeding
In barrels (with a significant proportion of new oak) for approximately 18 months
On the eye
Deep purple robe, nearly opaque, with intense violet hues at the rim.
On the nose
Aromas of dark fruits—blackcurrant and plum—with notes of chocolate and subtle spice. The bouquet develops gradually, revealing layers beneath the initial impression.
In the mouth
The palate is creamy and substantial. The wine fills the mouth with impressive textural richness, the tannins providing structure without harshness. A wine of weight and presence.
M. Francois
This Saint-Émilion proves particularly rewarding alongside a cheese course, where its balance of fruit, oak, and structure complements aged Comté or Époisses admirably. It also performs well with roasted game birds and meat dishes of modest richness. A wine that rewards patience in the glass.

CHATEAU ROL VALENTIN

Spread across 7 hectares at Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse in the Gironde, Château Rol Valentin produces red wines under the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé appellation, across two distinct terroirs of clay-limestone and ancient sand over clay. Founded in 1994, the château was taken over in 2009 by Alexandra and Nicolas Robin, who steered it to Grand Cru Classé classification in 2022, with disciplined yields of 35 hl/ha and HVE certification. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its viticulture, the coherence of its two terroirs, and the remarkable progress achieved by the Robin family over fifteen years. A Saint-Émilion of real character, firmly rooted in its soils.
