One of the world's most revered Saint-Émilion estates

  • Classified as 1er Grand Cru Classé A, Cheval Blanc represents the pinnacle of Saint-Émilion's hierarchy. This distinction reflects decades of consistent excellence and the estate's commanding position within Bordeaux's finest terroirs.
  • The 2022 vintage displays remarkable freshness and density, marrying the structure of a fine Médoc with the voluptuousness characteristic of the Right Bank. Silken tannins frame a wine of considerable complexity and refinement.
  • The aromatic profile unfolds with compelling layers: ripe red fruits, dark berries, and the distinctive floral signature of Cabernet Franc—violet and peony—interwoven with mineral undertones that speak to the vineyard's terroir.

Breeding
16 to 18 months in 100% new oak barrels
On the eye
Intense ruby with violet reflections in youth, evolving towards deep garnet as it matures, revealing exceptional phenolic concentration.
On the nose
A complex bouquet of red and dark fruits, with the characteristic Cabernet Franc signature: violet and peony. The aromatic profile develops with aeration, revealing further layers of fruit and mineral character.
In the mouth
Elegant entry with a rich, dense palate supported by silken tannins. The finish is marked by fresh red fruit and mineral refinement, demonstrating the wine's balance between power and finesse.
M. Francois
Cheval Blanc's defining quality is its timelessness. Unlike more opulent neighbours, it pursues purity rather than raw power—a wine simultaneously complex as a fine Médoc and voluptuous as a Libournais. Among the world's rarest wines, its market value remains remarkably stable, testament to a consistency that approaches perfection across all vintages, even challenging years.
