Syrah of terroir: power and refinement from the northern Rhône

  • Côte-Bodin is produced from one of Côte-Rôtie's most esteemed parcels, where granite and schist soils combined with steep hillsides impart the Syrah with remarkable finesse and distinctive minerality. The terroir expresses itself with clarity and precision.
  • The cool northern Rhône climate allows the Syrah to develop layered aromas whilst retaining freshness and vibrancy. This balance between ripeness and acidity defines the character of the vintage.
  • This wine will age gracefully for decades in the cellar, gradually revealing secondary aromas of undergrowth, leather and truffle. It pairs beautifully with rich dishes: roasted red meats, game, and aged cheeses.

In the mouth
Ample and structured on the palate, with fine, well-integrated tannins. Flavours of blackcurrant and blackberry meld with black pepper, liquorice and violet, underpinned by elegant minerality. The finish is long and persistent, marked by refreshing acidity.
On the nose
Complex and intense bouquet: ripe dark fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant), violet, black pepper and characteristic smoky notes typical of Côte-Rôtie. The aromatics evolve with air.
On the eye
Deep purple robe with garnet highlights
Breeding
Aged in oak barrels for 18 months, approximately 25% new wood, imparting subtle vanilla and toasted aromas without overwhelming the fruit
M. Francois
