In the mouth
The palate is generous yet restrained. Black fruits and spice notes are well-integrated with fine-grained tannins. The wine displays good balance between richness and acidity, with a lingering finish.
On the nose
Abundant dark fruit aromas—blackberry and plum—interwoven with white pepper and subtle floral notes. The bouquet unfolds with hints of liquorice and garrigue, reflecting the northern Rhône terroir.
On the eye
Deep purple, with a lustrous hue characteristic of young Côte-Rôtie Syrah.
Breeding
30% new oak, 70% one or two-year-old barrels for 22 months
M. Francois
An excellent accompaniment to game birds such as quail and partridge, where the wine's spice and fruit character complement the delicate meat. Also suited to roasted poultry and herb-led preparations. Decant thirty minutes before service to allow the wine to open.
