In the mouth
The attack is notably rich, with considerable power and a fine-grained tannin structure. The mid-palate displays weight without heaviness; the finish is persistent and dry, with lingering dark fruit.
On the nose
The bouquet is expressive and forthcoming, revealing dark plum, cassis, and subtle mineral undertones characteristic of the Right Bank terroir. Secondary notes of graphite emerge with aeration.
On the eye
Deep garnet, with considerable depth of colour
This Pomerol complements beef brochettes, roasted poultry, and regional cheeses admirably. The wine's structure and moderate alcohol make it equally suited to lighter game preparations. Decant one hour before service to allow the bouquet to fully express itself.

Château La Violette is an estate in the Pomerol appellation (Bordeaux, Right Bank). Area: 4 hectares. Owned by Catherine Péré-Vergé. Grape: Merlot (100%). Blue clay soils on the Pomerol plateau. Micro-cuvée of exceptional concentration and depth. Wooden-vat vinification. Aged in new barrels. Limited production of around 6,000 bottles.
