The elegance and depth of a great Saint-Émilion

  • Positioned amongst the finest estates of Saint-Émilion, Château la Dominique benefits from exceptional terroir combining clay and gravel soils. This geology produces wines of considerable finesse and complexity, characteristic of the appellation's most distinguished producers.
  • Merlot forms the backbone, lending roundness and generosity, whilst Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon provide structural definition and freshness. The careful balance of these varieties creates a wine of genuine harmony and depth.
  • Well-structured tannins and pronounced aromatic intensity mark this as a serious wine for the cellar. Properly stored, it will evolve gracefully over decades, gradually revealing increasingly nuanced and sophisticated aromatics.

In the mouth
Ample yet silken on the palate, with fine, well-integrated tannins. Dark fruit flavours meld with spice, dark chocolate, liquorice and forest floor notes. The finish is long, with pleasing freshness and understated minerality.
On the nose
Complex and intense bouquet revealing dark fruits—blackcurrant and plum—alongside truffle and precious wood notes. Subtle hints of vanilla and sweet spice from barrel ageing complete the composition.
On the eye
Deep purple robe with garnet reflections
Breeding
Aged in French oak barrels for 18 to 20 months, with a significant proportion of new wood, imparting delicate aromas of vanilla, toasted oak and chocolate whilst respecting the fruit expression
M. Francois
Château la Dominique exemplifies the finesse and impressive depth characteristic of Saint-Émilion's finest. Its complex nose of dark fruits, truffle and spice, combined with silken texture and refined tannins, makes it an excellent accompaniment to rich meats, game and mature cheeses. This is a wine built for the cellar, where it will continue to develop greater complexity and elegance. A considered choice for those with a serious interest in fine Bordeaux.
